A group of six friends living in the New York City borough of Manhattan is a hit. A show that started way back in 1994 up to 2004 won the hearts of many people. Surely, Friends is one most loved TV series that conquered primetime.
The Characters were Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, Courteney Cox as Monica Geller, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing and David Schwimmer as Dr. Ross Geller.
It all started when Rachel Green, a certified popular girl and a trustfund baby during his HighSchool finds herself in the comfort of Monica when she leaves her two-timer fiance at the altar. Monica, a head-chef at a top restaurant finds romantically incline with Chandler. Chandler, a financially secure data processor that relies on humor as defense mechanism. Then there's Joey Tribbiani, a not-so-intelligent-guy but sweet and funny who recently made a big war movie and is on Days Of Our Lives. Phoebe Buffay who dream of becoming big in the music indusrty thus she performs at the Central Perk with her own songs played. And Ross Gellar the older brother of Monica who has a strong feeling with Rachel.
What great about Friends is that the six main actors made deliberate efforts, from early on, to keep the show's ensemble format and not allow one actor to dominate. This includes that all actors on the show be nominated either for the same category of award or not at all and entering a collective instead of individual salary.
After the series ended in 2004, a spin-off show Joey was created but it didn't last long until it was canceled.
