Real-time and 24/7 Network Monitoring with Colasoft Capsa

The ability of real-time and 24/7 monitoring is one of the prior functions of a network analyzer/packet sniffer/protocol analyzer. The working principle of a network analyzer is to capture data (basically packets) transmitted in the network. Colasoft Capsa is among those famous network analyzers, it is capable of capturing such data and displaying it in the user interface, in intuitive table and graphs, giving you insight into complex network.

There are totally 10 views in Colasoft Capsa, namely "Summary", "Diagnosis", "Endpoints", "Protocols", "Conversations", "Matrix", "Packets", "Logs", "Graphs", and "Reports", plus one "Node Explorer" to the left.

After launching Colasoft Capsa, except for "Reports" view which is used to generate real-time reports, the rest 9 views and the "Node Explorer" will display real-time data of their corresponding statistics, letting you know the current situation of the network.

However, most of the time we will not sit in front of the computer staring at the screen and not all the network failures can be found in a very short period. Sometimes network analysis requires long time monitoring and must be based on the baseline of normal network. Thus long time network monitoring is an essential function of network analyzer.

Colasoft Capsa supports 24/7 hour long-time network monitoring. It is able to capture all packets and save those packets files into our local disc in various manners. We need not to stay with the computer any more. When it needs to view history network information, we just need to import the saved packet files into Colasoft Capsa and then we can do the post analysis work.
