Automating email campaigns – some ideas of how you can use date driven email campaigns

In our Maxenews newsletter we are always saying that one of the important success factors of an email is its relevance to the recipient. Part of what makes up relevance is the time they receive certain emails.

How many of your customers buy regularly from you? Those that buy on a regular basis find out why and those that do not find out the things they do not like about you.

Discount incentives to inactive customers
If someone has perhaps not purchased in the last few months incentivise them by delivering a special discount voucher by email.

Welcome or training programme to new customers & subscribers
When someone signs up on your website why not send them a series of introduction emails. This could also be used for a series of training emails over a period of days.

Reminder emails throughout any free trial period
If you offer a free trial of any service then you can schedule emails to be sent at various points throughout the trial including when they join, half-way through and at the end of the trial.

Subscription & Renewal reminders
When your car insurance runs out you may get a postal reminder but nowadays insurance providers are increasingly using email to ensure they renew. This technique could be used for targeting prospects as well as customers. Of course this can also be applied to other renewals outside of insurance such as magazine subscription renewals.


These are just some of the ways automated campaigns can be used. Of course many people already do this in addition to an email newsletter. However this is often handled internally. There are many advantages of getting your email marketing platform to send these emails including:
